| Q: |
How can I be sure my order was received? |
| A: |
After you place your order, Neuhaus will send you an e-mail confirming the details. |
| Q: |
Will I receive an e-mail when my order has been dispatched? |
| A: |
No, as Neuhaus provide next day delivery for these fresh chocolates, your order will be dispatched the same day it is placed. |
| Q: |
Are these products suitable for someone with nut allergies? |
| A: |
No, although not all chocolates are made with nuts they would have been made in the same kitchen so may contain some traces. |
| Q: |
Are these products suitable for someone with a gluten allergy? |
| A: |
Some of them such as the Napolitans and chocolate bars are suitable. However, as with nuts there is a need to be vigilant about cross-contamination so we do not advise eating our chocolate pralinés. |
| Q: |
Can I send chocolates to a different location from the billing address? |
| A: |
Yes, you may select this option when entering your details. |
| Q: |
Can I add a message? |
| A: |
Yes, as you proceed throughout the checkout screens you will pass through the 'your details page'. At the bottom of this page is a section in which you can put in a personal message. We recommend you use this whenever sending a gift so that the recipient knows who has sent it. |
| Q: |
How long can the chocolates be kept? |
| A: |
If the box is kept unopened, in a cool and dry place, you can keep the chocolates for 3-6 weeks. Once the box is opened, the chocolates should be eaten within 5 days. |
| Q: |
Can they be kept in the refrigerator? |
| A: |
Chocolate is a fragile product and does not do well under variable temperatures and humidity. Therefore, it is best not to refrigerate them because this causes a 'thermal shock', which causes a 'fat bloom' on the chocolates. |
| Q: |
Do your chocolates contain GMOs (genetically modified organisms)? |
| A: |
No, all the ingredients used in the manufacture of our chocolates are guaranteed by our suppliers to be GMO-free. |
| Q: |
Do your chocolates contain leicithin (soy)? |
| A: |
Yes, like most major chocolate makers, we use a dash of leicithin in our recipes because it serves as a binding agent, promoting a great texture and good blend of the ingredients. |
| Q: |
Does your chocolate contain animal fats? |
| A: |
No animal fats are used in our chocolate, but they do contain diary products such as milk, butter and cream. |
| Q: |
Do your chocolates contain vegetable fats? |
| A: |
No, our chocolate coating does not contain any vegetable fats apart from cocao butter. In addition, to reassure consumers buying or being given a box of Neuhaus chocolates, we insert a leaflet emphasising our commitment to quality. |
| Q: |
Are your chocolates Kosher? |
| A: |
No, although our chocolates do not contain animal fats, they do not comply with Kosher rules. |
| Q: |
Do your chocolates contain preservatives? |
| A: |
No, some chocolates contain a dash of alcohol, lemon or a concentrate of fruit sugars; these are natural preservatives. We do not use chemical additives in our chocolates. |
| Q: |
Why does chocolate become white? |
| A: |
The covering layer of our chocolates consists only of cocaco butter (no other vegetable fats) so substantial changes in temperature can cause the fats to rise to the surface. |
| Q: |
Do you have 'light' or 'diet' chocolates? |
| A: |
Our range does not include any so called diet chocolate - the kind that uses a substitute for sugar (aspartame or poly-ols). However, if it is purely your waistline you are concerned about, we recommend dark chocolate with 70% cocao solids as these contain the least sugar. It also has a more authentic chocolate taste and melts better in the mouth. |
| Q: |
